Machina Infinitum

Machina Infinitum, founded by Jesper Nybroe and Matteo Scappin, merges the worlds of digital art and mathematical precision. Jesper, a pioneer in the VFX industry with a rich portfolio including films like "Black Hawk Down" and music videos for Björk and Madonna, brings extensive artistic expertise.

Matteo, a computer science and 3D visualization expert from Italy, channels his fascination with fractal geometry into creating unique, infinite procedural 3D structures. Together, they blend artistic vision and mathematical rigor to craft innovative digital experiences.

The Render Network, The Carrousel de Louvre and the Future

Together as Machina Infinitum, Jesper and Matteo have now combined to create several pieces that play off each other’s strengths masterfully. Machina Infinitum’s main focus in the last few years has been creating fractal toolsets for professional animators and VFX artists to use, with a focus being creating for OctaneRender. Alongside their work with Vectron for OctaneRender, they’ve also created a realtime fractal plugin for Unreal 5 known as “Machina-Fractals: Essence”, with plans to release a similar plugin for Houdini later this year.

Their short film "Clouds are not spheres," showcased at the Carrousel de Louvre, features intricate fractal imagery and was created under tight deadlines.

The Render Network played a crucial role in this project, significantly expediting the rendering process.

Matteo highlighted, "The Louvre short film ‘Clouds are not spheres’ has some really intricate C4D Xpresso system and I was worried that during the ORBX process Octane would not be able to adapt it, but with one click everything worked like magic."

Jesper added, "Render saved our Louvre project, we had to create the whole short film in 10 days and rendering it would take months even on 4X RTX 2080ti’s. With the Render Network, it was just a matter of hours.”

The duo continues to leverage the Render Network in their projects, including NFTs on Makersplace and OpenSea, showcasing the network's capability to handle complex rendering tasks efficiently.
